I was especially thrilled to read in more detail the Buddha’s proposals for moderation in life and one way i Mark Siderits’ Budxhism as Philosophy examines and reconstructs arguments in the Buddhist literature concerning Buddhism’s positions on life, the self, and happiness, and also on topics like Idealism the belief that there are no external objects and the Buddhist concept of emptiness which I still don’t think I understand.

In my own attempts to teach Asian philosophy to American undergraduates, I have often felt the lack of a book like this one.
