Don’t get me wrong, I certainly don’t want to minimize this work to simple ideological propaganda, but it is clearly wrong to not take into account the spiritual judgmentalness of this book when universalizing its importance. I agree with Too many people have loved this book for me to see a failure to connect with it as the author’s fault. The courtroom drama at the end of the novel, would be very hard to match in modern fiction.

Like the Russian ,aramazovi that seems to blossom under skies of perpetual gray, this novel has brzca that will move a modern reader, and some that will test the resolve of others.
